About

From an early age, Melanie Francis loved to draw. Eventually, she earned admittance to New York City’s prestigious High School of Art and Design. While in college, Melanie discovered that she enjoyed writing stories as much as she liked drawing and painting. She has combined her love of art with her love of writing to create children’s books, including Poop Shoes and Miss Abby Crabby.

Poop Shoes teaches about recycling and the environment, while Miss Abby Crabby tackles the topics of bullying, the importance of friendship, and the ability to change.

Upcoming books are Just Jeannine, and I’m Not Really Different, each with its own message of encouragement.
