Catherine Laakso believes in the power of kindness, imagination, and a dash of sprinkles to brighten the world.

Her debut children’s book, The Sprinkle Spreader, was born from a simple idea that small acts of kindness can ripple out in big, meaningful ways. She hopes her stories inspire children and adults to embrace kindness, celebrate creativity, and believe in their ability to make a difference in the world.

Catherine is also known as Mom and as “Gidgie” to her granddaughters, who are represented in the cheerleader characters. Catherine loves the input of her friends and family, so everyone feels seen and heard.
If she is not traveling to see friends and family, she can be found in Florida, loving the tranquility of the beach, tending to her tropical landscape, and indulging in many of her creative endeavors.

Her imagination and sunshine with sprinkles of kindness, sweetness, and love fill her days.
